Understood.org – More than just a website
I recently came across one of those recommended thingies on my facebook page. I usually just scroll right through but something about this one caught my attention.
If you have a child with ANY learning disability, I highly recommend checking out the site http://www.understood.org.
This site not only offers amazing tips and strategies, there are downloadables like an IEP checklist, graphic organizers to help your kids tackle school and home work. There are recommendations for assistive technologies for your child both at home and at school. Fun games that seem like fun to them, but are actually geared towards teaching or helping.
This is the first website I have found that seems to totally get it. They get the struggles, but don’t harp on them. Rather, they offer solutions and alternatives that make sense.
You can follow them on facebook, or sign up for emails. Either way, I highly suggest it.
